A Fragile Breath
Seasons change from day to day
and time can't catch its breath
Dreams are phantoms in the night
and life holds hands with death
Thoughts have often come and gone
of just what might have been
Time and chance have hidden them
somewhere deep within
The hopes and fears of long ago
and sailed them off to sea
Tempest tossed and driven now
forever lost to me
Life is like a fragile breath
a vapor soon dispersed
Among the many gifts of God
throughout the universe
