Shadows In The Night

In waking are we sleeping still
and is our life a dream
Projected on the face of time 
and does it really seem

​

That we are merely phantoms here
like shadows in the night
And with the breaking of the dawn
we soon are given flight

​

In frenzied fear we soar above 
the earth and looking down
Like ravens in a midnight sky
we're lost and can't be found

​

Until we come to understand
our life is not our own
That with the breaking of the dawn
comes light to guide us home

​

For we are children of the day
not shadows in the night
God is the one who lights way
and give us wings for flight

​

So walk as children of the day
while you're away from home
And fear no more forevermore
your life is not your own
